Spoken English Club — Live Practice

About the course

A standing weekly speaking session for people who can already read and understand English but lock up the moment they have to produce it out loud. It runs continuously — you join for as long as it is useful and stop when it is not.

This is deliberately not a course with a syllabus and an end date. Fluency does not arrive at the end of a twelve-week plan; it arrives after enough hours of talking. The monthly format exists so the practice can keep going for as long as you need it to.

What happens in a session

Every session is ninety minutes, live, in groups of no more than eight:

  1. A warm-up round where everyone speaks within the first five minutes — no silent observers

  2. A situation drill, run in pairs and then swapped so you speak twice

  3. An open discussion on one prompt, with the instructor tracking errors rather than interrupting

  4. A five-minute correction round at the end, covering what actually came up

Corrections are held to the end on purpose. Being stopped mid-sentence teaches you to fear the sentence; hearing the correction ninety seconds later teaches you the grammar without attaching anxiety to speaking.

What gets covered

  • Introducing yourself and your work without rehearsing a script

  • Asking for clarification instead of pretending you understood

  • Disagreeing politely, in a meeting or with someone senior

  • Explaining a problem you do not have the exact vocabulary for

  • Telephone and video-call English, where you lose facial cues

  • Interview answers, including the ones you were not expecting

  • Small talk — the hardest register, and the one nobody teaches

  • Pronunciation and sentence stress

  • Filler-word habits, identified from recordings

  • Speaking under mild time pressure without freezing

Recordings you will not enjoy

One session a month is recorded and each member gets their own clip. Most people find this uncomfortable and most people also find it the single most useful thing in the programme.

You cannot fix a filler word you do not know you are saying. Ten seconds of your own recording does more than an hour of advice about fluency.

Who it is for

Working professionals, university students and job candidates at roughly intermediate level and above. You should be able to follow a conversation and read comfortably — this is a production problem, not a comprehension one.

  • Comfortable reading and listening in English

  • Able to hold a short conversation, however haltingly

  • Willing to speak badly in front of other people for a while

That last one is not a joke. The members who improve fastest are the ones who stop protecting themselves from sounding wrong.

Membership, seats and fee

Sessions run every week from 1 September 2026, with no fixed end date. Membership is monthly and renews on its own until you cancel — there is no lock-in and no notice period.

Forty places. Groups are capped at eight, so a full house runs as five parallel groups.

Joining mid-month is fine. You are billed from the day you join, not from the first of the month.

Bikiron Academy is an online school for students across Bangladesh. We run live and recorded courses for Classes 6 to 12, university and medical admission preparation, IELTS, and job-ready professional skills. Every course is taught by a postgraduate instructor with real classroom experience, every chapter closes with a graded assessment, and every question posted in a course is answered in writing by the teacher who taught the lesson. Classes work on mobile data, recordings stay available for a full year, and the fees are about a third of what a Dhaka coaching centre charges.
