A plain cotton round-neck t-shirt in the academy's green, with the Bikiron mark screen-printed on the chest. The fabric is mid-weight combed cotton. Combing removes the short fibres before spinning, which is why the surface stays smooth instead of developing the fuzzy pilled look that cheaper cotton gets after a dozen washes. Mid-weight is the compromise that matters in this climate: heavy enough to hold its shape and not turn transparent, light enough to wear through a Dhaka summer. The collar is ribbed and stitched with the fabric under slight tension, which is what stops it stretching out and hanging loose after a few months. A collapsed collar is the first thing that makes a t-shirt look old, usually well before the fabric or the print has anything wrong with it. Shoulders and hem are double-stitched. The shoulder seam is the highest-stress point on a t-shirt, particularly on one being pulled on and off in a hurry, and single-stitched shoulders are where cheap shirts fail first. There is no sewn-in neck label. The size and care information is printed directly onto the inside of the collar, so there is nothing to scratch and nothing to cut out later. The chest design is screen-printed rather than heat-transferred. A heat transfer sits on top of the fabric as a separate plastic layer and eventually cracks, curls at the edges and lifts away. Screen-printed ink is pushed into the weave and flexes with it, so it fades very slowly rather than failing suddenly. Sizes run M to XXL, cut as a regular fit rather than slim or oversized. If you are between sizes, take the larger one — cotton of this weight loses a small amount of length in its first hot wash and almost none in width, so the risk is a shirt that is short rather than tight. Wash it inside out in cold water. Both instructions do specific jobs: inside out protects the print from abrasion against the drum, and cold water protects the green, which is a saturated dye and will fade faster in hot water than a neutral colour would. Do not iron directly over the print. One honest note: this is a plain branded t-shirt, not technical or performance wear. It is 100 percent cotton, so it absorbs rather than wicks, and it will crease. If you want something for sport or for a long humid commute, this is not the right garment.
